A Guide for Interns
A Guide for Interns in Victoria aims to provide new graduates with some basic information as they commence the next stage of their journey towards becoming a fully qualified doctor and is issued by the PMCV on behalf of the Medical Practioner Board of Victoria. The Guide provides an overview of what is expected in the intern year including:
- Requirements for registration as a medical practitioner

- The goals of internship
- Learning Objectives for an intern
- The elements of the accreditation framework of intern positions
- Descriptions of core and non core rotations
- Informed Consent guidelines
- A Who's Who of people who have a role in the intern year
The Guide was recently reprinted November 2009 and revisions included:
- Inclusion of Guidelines for On-Call & After Hours in a General Practice
- Revised term supervisor role description
- Updated Accreditation Criteria
