The new Board of the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria has been established in accordance with the Council's Statement of Purpose and Rules (approved by the Registrar with effect from the 13 March 2012) at a Board meeting held on Monday 6 August 2012.
Subject to section 23 of the Act and Rule 25.8, the Board consists of:
(a) the following nominated members:
(i) a nominee of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences of the University of Melbourne - Professor Geoff McColl;
(ii) a nominee of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, Monash University - Professor Michelle Leech;
(iii) a nominee of the Faculty of Health, Deakin University - Professor Brendan Crotty; and
(iv) a nominee of the Minister of Health - Mr Nick Bush.
(b) the following elected members:
(i) a medical graduate who has, at the time of nomination less than three years’ experience as a medical practitioner - Dr Golsa Adabi;
(ii) one member who is a consultant physician - Dr Michael Franco;
(iii) one member who is a consultant surgeon - Professor Julian Smith;
(iv) one member who is an emergency physician - Associate Professor Jonathan Knott;
(v) one member who is a general practitioner - Associate Professor Lyn Clearihan;
(vi) one member who is a medical manager - Dr Mark Garwood; and
(vii) one member who is a medical educator - Dr Peter Stevens OAM.
The current office bearers of the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria are:

The Board has appointed Ms Carol Jordon, Chief Executive Officer, PMCV, as the Public Officer.
