Workshop Training for Supervisors of IMGs
Under the COAG IMG Assessment model, International Medical Graduates (IMGs) are required to undergo a period of structured supervision within the Australian Healthcare setting. It is also a requirement of the AMC that these supervisors have either participated in agreed supervisor training or provide evidence of appropriate recent training.
In order for supervisors to meet these guidelines, the PMCV, in conjunction with the Medical Education Unit of St Vincent’s Hospital has developed an education program which will not only assist supervisors to have a greater understanding of some of the issues facing IMGs, but also that you are adequately trained to complete the Work Performance Report for the Medical Board of Australia.
This program comprises three modules:
• Supporting IMGs for Clinical Practice in Australia (2hrs)
• Teaching and Learning (2hrs)
• Assessment and Appraisal (2hrs)
The training is provided free of charge to supervisors of IMGs working in the Victorian public health system.
Future workshops will be advertised as scheduled
