Managers of Junior Medical Staff
The Board of the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria recently approved
the establishment of a HMO Managers Group as a formal subcommittee. The meetings
of HMO Managers had previously been sponsored by the Council. There are significant
benefits for interactions between PMCV and hospitals, including conjoint policy
development. HMO Managers have been involved in discussions on a range of issues
including OTDs in Victorian hospitals, the HMO Certified Industrial Award, and
College selection processes. They have also been exploring policies on approaches
to computer matching and use of medical locums in the hospital system.
