International Medical Graduates Information and Frequently Asked Questions Guide

This manual provides general information in relation to working as a Medical Practitioner in Victorian Hospitals. Information is based on the current provisions in Victoria and may change if there are changes to the Australian Medical Council (AMC) www.amc.org.au processes or to the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria processes www.medicalboardvic.org.au

The manual was compiled in June 2009 and covers topics such as: obtaining medical registration in Victoria; the COAG IMG National Assessment Process; residency and visa issues; the National English Language Proficiency Requirements for IMGs and the computer matching process.
