All formal PMCV accreditation assessments have been cancelled in 2020 (and deferred to 2021) which includes survey visits and the mid-cycle reviews. PMCV is seeking advice from the Medical Board of Australia regarding extensions to accreditation.
Accreditation documentation for new posts and changes to posts will also be reduced, although health services will still be expected to keep PMCV informed.
PMCV will continue to monitor health services to ensure intern and PGY2 training placements are appropriate in terms of clinical supervision and clinical learning to ensure junior doctor wellbeing and safe quality patient care. This will include active liaison with health services to address existing conditions of accreditation, concerns or other issues as they arise.
The Accreditation Manager may be contacted on firstname.lastname@example.org
PMCV acknowledges that intern sick leave, redeployments etc. may impact on interns meeting core intern training requirements.
PMCV is currently unable to approve non-clinical home duties or changes to total number of weeks of core mandatory terms (defined by the Intern Registration Standard) however further advice from MBA/AMC is anticipated shortly.
All Matches for positions commencing in 2021 are expected to proceed, hosted on the new Allocation and Placement Service website.
