DESCRIPTION:Make an easy transition into the Australian healthcare system\nPMCV’s Hitting the Ground Running (HTGR): IMG Orientation program supports International Medical Graduate (IMGs) who are planning on or currently working within the Australian healthcare system (Hospital-based and/or General Practice). \nThe modules across both days are: \n\nOrientation to the Australian Healthcare System\nLegislation and professional Practice\nAboriginal Cultural Awareness\n\nAt the end of the course\, you will receive evidence of certification and an ORIG-30 mapping checklist. This will ensure that you successfully complete necessary components of your mandatory 3 month orientation reporting requirement (ORIG-30) as per your general registration requirements set by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

DESCRIPTION:About the Program\n\n\nCommunicating with Confidence is a non-clinical course designed to help\nyou develop the skills and techniques required when working in\nchallenging situations\, such as performing in a clinical exam\, when speaking with a patient or when interacting with colleagues. \nParticipants will participate in a unique learning experience which explores techniques such as voice\, breathing and strategies for improved confidence and thinking on your feet\,  to provide knowledge and skills transferable to use in the everyday workplace environment. \nAssumed Knowledge\nThis course assumes you to meet current AHPRA Registration requirements for English literacy or equivalent. The content will require participants to adapt the English language using techniques such as paraphrasing\, rephrasing or substituting words\, sentences and ideas.

SUMMARY:First Nations Cultural Awareness
DESCRIPTION:Increase your First Nations cultural awareness and sensitivity for better healthcare outcomes\nIn collaboration with Emma Leehane (Nangala Aboriginal Cultural Education)\, the PMCV has developed a cultural awareness training module with a focus on First Nations Australian culture and associated healthcare issues and considerations. \nThe training provides cultural awareness education that: \n\nIncludes an overview of the key issues relevant to the development of a culturally safe health service environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.\nLeads to an increase in culturally safe and sensitive practice amongst health care professionals.\n\nRefund Policy:\nRegistration will be refunded for cancellations up to 7 days prior to the event. Registration will not be refunded for cancellations of less than 5 business days (1 week)\, nor for non-attendance. \nFor further information on the FNCA Program\, please email PMCVeducation@pmcv.com.au. \nCancellation and Rescheduling:\nPMCV courses are subject to minimum and maximum group numbers. Courses may be cancelled or postponed if minimum numbers are not achieved by the scheduled date. Courses may close prior to the start date if the maximum numbers are achieved.
