SUMMARY:Entrustable Professional Activities Training
DESCRIPTION:Attention all prevocational supervisors – join PMCV on Friday the 21st of March 2025 for our Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA) Assessor Training! \nThe Australian Medical Council’s revised National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training is being implemented in Victoria and is improving the education and training of our prevocational doctors through the strengthening of supervision and assessment. A key component of the National Framework is Entrustable Professional Activities which offer a chance to observe the prevocational doctor’s work and provide feedback for improvement. EPAs are well established in medical education as reliable contributors for assessing competency. \nThe AMC has mandated that all prevocational supervisors must complete training to assess EPAs and has stipulated that other EPA training will not be considered as RPL. PMCV has designed an informed training program to ensure that EPAs are optimised in your hospital. All Victorian prevocational supervisors will need to undertake this training to be an assessor\, so join us in-person for the day and walk away being a certified EPA assessor! \nRegister for this in-person training day offered by PMCV that will give you the opportunity to understand EPAs by watching them in action and participating in discussions.\nWhat are they? What is my role? How do I include them in my supervision practice? \nRegister now via: https://events.humanitix.com/2024-pmcv-entrustable-professional-activities-training

SUMMARY:2023 PMCV Symposium - Success in a Constantly Evolving Environment
DESCRIPTION:Join PMCV on Friday the 14th of July for our annual Symposium with this year’s theme being ‘Success in a Constantly Evolving Environment’. \nPMCV will be hosting our annual Symposium on Friday the 14th of July at The Angliss Conference Centre. This year our theme will be ‘Success in a Constantly Evolving Environment’ where we will be discussing the process of implementing positive cultural change in an organisation in lieu of the introduction to the National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training across Australia in 2024. \nLed by our keynote speaker with an extensive background in competency-based education\, faculty development\, program evaluation\, and curriculum development\, Dr Jason Frank\, clinician-educator from Ottawa\, Canada\, will be discussing international benchmarking and detailing how a growth mindset is the key to success in a constantly evolving environment. \nJason will join the panel discussion\, ‘Elevating supervisor engagement in a time of transition’\, where he and other local and international experts will delve into new methods and tools to strengthen supervisor engagement. \nPMCV invites you to join us as we showcase the core national modules of the Program for Prevocational Supervision for the first time prior to the official launch. This is an opportunity to see the module structures and narratives firsthand so you can contribute to the final edits. \nThis event is ideal for DCTs\, SITs\, MEOs and Term Supervisors. We encourage all health services to nominate two Term Supervisors to attend – one that is a National Framework ‘champion’ and one that may be not convinced as yet. \nPlease note that this event will be fully catered for. \nRegistrations on the day will start at 9:30 am with the official programming beginning at 10:00 am. \nA full program for the day can be accessed HERE. \nThis event is almost sold out – please register ASAP or join our waitlist via Eventbrite. \nIf you have any enquiries regarding this event\, please contact us via marketing@pmcv.com.au.

SUMMARY:Annual Collaboration Extravaganza
DESCRIPTION:Join PMCV for our Annual Collaboration Extravaganza where we will bring the Victorian medical community together once again. \nOn Friday the 10th of December 2021\, the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) will host the PMCV Annual Collaboration Extravaganza. \nThis event will be the first opportunity to bring together the Victorian medical community to reflect on the year that has been and work together to plan for 2022. \nThe day will feature a diverse array of interactive sessions and will be capped off by celebratory drinks and canapes! \nWe’re excited to welcome Associate Professor Lyn Clearihan as our keynote speaker for this event. Lyn’s session ‘Navigating the Personal while Developing the Professional’ will cover important aspects of the proFESS framework and how it can enhance the understanding of professionalism and fitness of practice. \nSome of the sessions you can expect will be: \nCommunication Techniques Workshop\nThis session is open to all. \nThese workshops will help you to further develop your confidence when communicating as well as providing you with some handy take-away tools that you can apply to a variety of clinical workplace situations. \nBreakout Sessions:\n1) MEO Network and Clinical Supervisor Network\nThis is a collaborative session for both MEOs and Clinical Supervisors. \nThis will be the last MEO Network session for 2021 as well as an introductory session for the Clinical Supervisor Network. MEOs and Supervisors will then have the chance to reflect and collaborate on the strategies that will best support prevocational education and training planning for 2022\, as well as exploring the future direction of clinical supervisor sessions. \n2) Medical Workforce: Aligning recruitment dates for 2022\nThis session is for Medical Workforce Managers and Directors. \nIn 2021 as part of the Streamline Recruitment Initiative\, PMCV commenced the alignment of recruitment dates for Matched recruitment. This is an interactive workshop that seeks to collaboratively set the recruitment cycle dates for 2022. While the session will include matched positions its goal is to incorporate and align dates for specialist HMO and HMO3 roles as well. \n3) Accreditation Surveyor Refresher Training\nThis session is for existing Surveyors. \nDue to the suspension of the Accreditation program in 2020\, many surveyors may not have undertaken a recent survey in 2021. This session will give you the opportunity to refresh your knowledge of the process prior to embarking on the 2022 survey cycle. \nPMCV Showcase:\nThis session will be a celebration of what PMCV’s strategic pillars have achieved in 2021 as well as looking into what we will be doing in 2022. We hope that you will come away from this session with some valuable insight into how PMCV will be collaborating with you and the wider Victorian healthcare system into the future. \n————————————————————————— \nThere are multiple sessions throughout the day so please feel free to attend the sessions that are most relevant to you. \nPlease note that COVID restrictions are still in place so we will need you to register for this event if you wish to attend. \nIf you have any questions prior to the day please reach out to us via PMCVEducation@pmcv.com.au. \nPMCV is looking forward to celebrating and connecting with you once again! \nPlease RSVP for this event by Friday the 3rd of December. This event will be fully catered. \nView the event program
