Find a supportive community that advocates for your training and welfare needs
JMO Victoria (formerly known as JMO Forum Victoria) is a team of junior doctors who represent, advocate for, and support all junior doctors in Victoria.
JMOs can often feel like they’re alone and that their voices aren’t heard in the healthcare service. Pair that with the long and often-complicated process of medical education and training, and it can be a daunting experience.
In order to overcome these challenges and provide a supportive community for other JMOs, JMO Victoria was formed. We advocate for and support all JMOs by assessing, escalating, and improving the professional development, training needs and the welfare of other junior doctors.
We’re a non-membership organisation, and thus represent all junior doctors in Victoria. We are supported by the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV).
Our Team

As we continue to grow from strength to strength, our accomplishments include:
Representation of JMOs from over 20 Health Services
Review, evaluation, and development of practical resources for JMOs
PGY2 education programs
Professionalism competencies for junior doctors and development of online learning resources

Join the VMWS job share database!
The Victorian Medical Women’s Society had joined PMCV to promote its Job Sharing Database (JDS). Many of the Match processes coordinated by the PMCV Allocation and Placement Service team include an option for candidates to indicate their wish to job-share, and ability to nominate a job-share partner.
Flexible working arrangements are vital to promote gender equity, inclusion and doctor wellbeing in medical workplaces. Join our free, confidential database or browse the classifieds to find out how you can make medicine work for you.
- Submit your expression of interest in part-time or Jobshare positions to VMWS: https://vic.afmw.org.au/part-time-training/
- A de-identified, confidential advertisement will be listed on the VMWS Jobshare webpage
- Doctors in Victoria and interstate can browse and contact VMWS to express interest in advertised positions, with suitable applicants matched.
