HMO2/RG2/BPT1/BPT2 Match 2023

PMCV will administer the Hospital Medical Officers (HMO)2, Rural Generalist (RG)2 and Basic Physician Training (BPT)1/2 Match on behalf of the Victorian Department of Health and Victorian Rural Generalist Program. There will be some PGY2 and some PGY3 positions included in this Match in HMO streams such as General, Surgical, Emergency, Critical Care and more.

Eligibility criteria

  • Candidates must hold an MBBS or equivalent.
  • Candidates must hold current General AHPRA registration or be eligible for General AHPRA registration by the commencement of the 2024 clinical year i.e.  February 2024.

Q. My full general registration with APHRA is expected to come through after Feb 2025, can I still enter the Match?

No, you must reasonably expect to be granted full general registration prior to the clinical year commencing in Feb 2025.

Ineligible candidates can apply through the Late Vacancy Match.

 

Q. I am an IMG temporary resident; can I apply to the PGY2 Match?

No, only Australian or New Zealand trained permanent and temporary residents are eligible for the Match.

 

Q. I am ineligible for the PGY2 Match, what are my options?

You may be eligible to apply for positions through the Late Vacancy Match.

This match will be open to International Medical Graduates (IMGs) without current AHPRA registration may apply, but will be required to also include additional documentation in support of their eligibility for registration via either the Standard Pathway or Competent Authority Pathway. Evidence of meeting English Language Skills Test and Recency of Practice requirements must also be provided.
