FAQs

FAQs will be added throughout the Match process

Q. I am ineligible for the PGY2 Match, what are my options?

You may be eligible to apply for positions through the Late Vacancy Match.

Match information will be available in August, with the opening date yet to be determined (approx. Sept/Oct).

Q. Do I have to enter all 10 Health Service preferences for my application to be valid?

No, you do not need to enter all 10 preferences. Candidates must enter at least 1 Health Service preference. However, the more preferences you enter, the greater chance you have of being allocated a position.

Q. Who can I nominate as my referee?

You must nominate 2 referees and have an option to nominate a third referee if you wish. If nominating 3 referees, at least 2 must be consultants and 1 may be a registrar. The referees must have directly supervised you in clinical practice, preferably in the last 12 months.

Q. Can all Health Service see the information I have entered in my application?

No, only the Health Service you have preferenced can see your information.

Q. How long do I have to accept my allocated position?

If you are allocated a position, you will have 48 hours to accept or decline the offer. If you decline the offer, you will not receive any further offers in the PYG2 Match.

Q. Do I still need to apply to the PGY2/3 Match, if I have already applied to the BPT1 Match and was unmatched?

You will still need to apply to the BPT2/3 Match and complete the declaration form etc.

However do not include referees names in your application, unless you want the referee to complete a new report. If you want your referees transferred from BPT1 to PGY2/3 Match, send an email to allocations@pmcv.com.au with your referees names and our team will transfer your reports manually.

Please be patient while we undertake this process.

Q. If I was matched in the BPT1 Match, can I still apply to the PGY2/3 Match.

No, if you have received a Match you cannot apply to another Match.
