About the Artist

Jordan Lovegrove is an accomplished Ngarrindjeri contemporary artist, graphic designer and owner of Karko Creations, with over 12 years of experience on corporate, government and for-purpose creative projects.

Inspired by his ancestral lands and culture, Jordan’s artwork explores themes of identity, spirituality, and the connection between land and community. Alongside his artwork, Jordan excels in graphic design, crafting impactful visuals for reports, logos, promotional materials, and various branding projects. His expertise in vector artwork enables him to create intricate digital pieces that celebrate his cultural heritage.

The artwork represents the learning journey of prevocational doctors as they begin their careers, supported by many people and organisations along the way. The large central pathway symbolises the rite of passage – the transition from student to health professional.

Along this path are meeting places representing the many stakeholders who provide guidance, support, and learning opportunities, including PMCV, supervisors, peers, cultural mentors, and the broader medical community.

PMCV walks alongside prevocational doctors as they transition from student to practitioner, providing a structured developmental pathway that ensures they are equipped, supported, and guided throughout their early careers. The bush medicine leaves throughout the artwork reflect the ongoing importance of healing, growth, and cultural knowledge in healthcare.

The growth of trees represents personal and professional development, as doctors grow stronger and more capable with experience. The interconnected elements show the importance of working together, cultural safety, and collaboration in supporting each doctor’s journey, aligning with PMCV’s commitment to reconciliation and building a culturally inclusive workforce.
