Term Assessments

This video provides an overview of how to successfully complete Term Assessments under the National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training.

Duration: 12 minutes

Mandatory Training for:

Prevocational Supervisors who have not completed supervisor training through a specialty college.

Recommended Training for:

Directors of Clinical Training (DCT)/Supervisors of Intern Training (SIT), Term Supervisors and Primary or Day-to-Day Clinical Supervisors.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Describe what information should be obtained, how to obtain it, and requirements of different supervisor roles in ensuring the forms are completed correctly.
2. Recognise the value of constructive and specific feedback in helping a prevocational doctor achieve their training outcomes.
3. Discuss sensitive approaches to the culturally safe completion of Term Assessments.
4. Describe both a mid and end-of-term assessment discussion.
5. Describe an outline of the approach to improving performance through targeted support.
